Isla Cristina shooting leaves three dead, including pregnant woman and minor
A shooting in the El Rocío neighborhood of Isla Cristina, Huelva, has left three people dead and one person seriously injured. The victims, who were members of the same family, include a 39-year-old pregnant woman, her 16-year-old son, and her 62-year-old mother.
According to the Guardia Civil, two masked individuals on a motorcycle opened fire on the victims in a public area around 10:00 PM on Sunday. The attackers fled the scene and reportedly attempted to destroy their motorcycle by setting it on fire in a nearby pine forest to evade detection.
Investigators are currently treating the incident as a possible retaliation or “ajuste de cuentas” between criminal clans. Authorities have noted a potential link to a previous fatal shooting in the El Torrejón neighborhood of Huelva in September 2024. The investigation is currently under a judicial gag order (secreto de sumario), and security forces have increased their presence in the area to prevent further violence.
