Isla Cristina to host European SUP League championship event

Isla Cristina will host the European SUP League for the first time from September 4 to 6, 2026. The event, held at Playa Central, serves as the fifth of six stops in the 2026 season and marks the beginning of the championship's decisive final stretch.

More than 200 athletes from over 20 countries are expected to participate. The competition features two main disciplines: a 200-meter Sprint Race on Saturday focused on speed, and a Technical Race on Sunday involving a course of 500 to 1,000 meters that tests maneuvering skills around buoys. A total of 6,000 euros in prize money will be distributed between the two disciplines.

Following the event in Isla Cristina, the circuit will move to Sesimbra, Portugal, for the grand final one week later.
