Isla Cristina triple homicide: Five suspects in custody

Five men are now in provisional prison following the investigation into a triple homicide in Isla Cristina. The two most recent suspects were arrested during a surprise raid on a residence in San Bartolomé de la Torre after being in hiding since the incident.

The shooting occurred on August 16, when individuals on a motorcycle opened fire with a long weapon in a public area. The attack resulted in the deaths of a 39-year-old pregnant woman, her unborn child, her 62-year-old mother, and a 16-year-old boy who was not involved in the underlying clan conflict. Two other people were injured in the gunfire.

The suspects face multiple charges, including three counts of murder, attempted homicide, serious injury to a fetus resulting in death, belonging to a criminal organization, and illegal possession of weapons. The investigation continues to examine the links between the detainees and local criminal groups.
