Isla del Cerrito hosts successful International Dorado Fishing Tournament

The XXII International Dorado Catch and Release Fishing Tournament concluded in Isla del Cerrito with significant economic and touristic results. The event drew approximately 200 boats featuring participants from various Argentine provinces, Paraguay, and Brazil, alongside more than 135 local entrepreneurs.

Governor Leandro Zdero attended the closing ceremony, highlighting the collaboration between the public and private sectors to support local employment and entrepreneurship. Tourism officials reported full hotel occupancy in the region, noting that local gastronomic providers had undergone prior training to ensure quality and food safety standards.

The tournament emphasized environmental conservation through a real-time inspection system to enforce catch-and-release practices for the dorado species. In the competition, Barra Pesquera 104 secured first place for teams, winning a Campanili 150S Wakemaster boat.
