Global water and sanitation infrastructure projects advance

Various regions are implementing or managing critical water and sanitation infrastructure. In Honduras, the Alcaldía Municipal del Distrito Central (AMDC) has distributed over eight million gallons of potable water via cisterns to combat water rationing in Tegucigalpa and Comayagüela. Additionally, the AMDC and local residents have constructed community washing stations in the 14 de Enero area to serve approximately 900 people. In the Merendón region, the Coca-Cola Foundation has supported a project providing sustainable water access to 822 people in Tomalá and La Unión de Río Frío.

In Panama, the Anillo Hidráulico Este project has reached 100% completion under Conades and is transitioning to Idaan, aiming to benefit over 500,000 people by improving water storage and conduction. In Spain, a new wastewater pumping station in Añaza has been completed as part of the ‘Plan Vertido Cero’ to improve local sewage treatment. Meanwhile, in Paraguay, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications is advancing Phase B of the Pilar Coastal Defense, which includes sewage networks, storm drainage, and a treatment plant. In Argentina, infrastructure works continue with sewage network renewals in Santa Rosa and paving projects in San Cristóbal.
