Isla Mujeres launches laptop subsidy program for college‑bound youth

The municipal government of Isla Mujeres, led by President Atenea Gómez Ricalde, opened applications for the "Transformando la Educación: Mi Computadora 2026" program. The initiative subsidises 70 % of the price of a laptop for students about to enter higher education.

Applications are accepted from 14 July to 14 August. Registrations can be made Monday‑Friday, 09:00‑18:00, at the Continental Zone Community Center or, on the island, at the Education offices in the IEEA dome. Eligible applicants must meet the program’s operational rules and provide required documentation in advance.
