Isla Mujeres completes over 170 public works projects

The municipal government of Isla Mujeres, led by Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, has reported the completion of over 170 public works projects over a five-year period. These initiatives include improvements to roads, public services, sports facilities, and security infrastructure. Notable achievements include the paving of over 228,000 square meters, the construction of seven sports domes, five soccer fields, and 17 playgrounds.

In terms of environmental and urban management, the administration has utilized funds from the Environmental Sanitation Right to finance projects such as the undergrounding of electrical wiring on Guerrero and Juárez streets, the restoration of sinkholes on Avenida Perimetral Oriente, and various paving works in the Insular Zone.

To diversify the local tourism economy, the municipality has also introduced the first Diving Guide in Quintana Roo to promote responsible and sustainable diving. Additionally, the local government continues to host cultural events, such as the 'Cántale a México con el Corazón' singing competition, to celebrate national traditions.
