Islam Makhachev stops Magomed Magomedov fight due to shoulder injury

During a PFL event in Tampa, UFC champion Islam Makhachev acted as a cornerman for Magomed Magomedov, who suffered a dislocated left shoulder during his fight against Daniel Marcos. Magomedov had been performing well through the first two rounds, utilizing wrestling and clinches, before the injury occurred late in the second round.

Footage of the incident shows Makhachev attempting to manually reposition Magomedov’s shoulder during the break between rounds. This attempt drew significant criticism from fans and medical professionals online, with some suggesting the technique used was improper and potentially dangerous.

Despite a medical check that allowed the fight to continue, Magomedov was unable to proceed effectively. Makhachev ultimately threw in the towel 11 seconds into the third round, resulting in a TKO victory for Daniel Marcos due to the injury.
