Islamabad High Court blocks CDA demolition of citizen's house
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued an interim order restraining the Capital Development Authority (CDA) from demolishing a residence or taking coercive action against a citizen in Village Koral.
The case was brought by Malik Mumtaz Ali Khan, who challenged a CDA notice issued on October 1, 2026, regarding alleged encroachments. The petitioner stated he purchased the property approximately 20 years ago and has maintained the building for 15 years. He argued that if land is required for road widening, the authorities should follow legal acquisition procedures.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan has directed the CDA to submit a detailed report and para-wise comments before the next hearing to clarify its position on the disputed property.
