Islamabad High Court hears petitions for Adiala Jail inmates' medical rights

The Islamabad High Court has heard petitions filed by several inmates of Adiala Jail seeking medical treatment and communication rights. The cases involve prisoners Elias Khan, Muhammad Ismail Khan, and Owais Altaf.

Legal counsel for Muhammad Ismail Khan argued that the client suffers from hemophilia and requires specialized treatment available only at Shifa International Hospital, noting that the family is willing to bear the costs. Another petitioner, Owais Altaf, requested transfer to Shifa International Hospital due to heart disease and fever. Additionally, a request was made to allow an inmate to contact his brother in Dubai via WhatsApp.

Justice Muhammad Asif has requested para-wise comments from jail authorities and adjourned the proceedings until August 27.
