Islamabad police launch mobility initiatives for students and women

Islamabad Traffic Police has introduced several initiatives to enhance mobility and independence for specific groups in the capital. From November 1 to November 30, 2026, eligible college and university students can obtain motorcycle driving licences on the same day, bypassing the standard 42-day learner period.

Additionally, the department is hosting a free scooter-riding training programme for women from November 1 to November 15, 2026. Led by Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan, the sessions will be held at Uraan Driving School and supervised by experienced female police officers. The programme aims to build riding confidence and support women's economic participation by providing more reliable transportation options for commuting to work and educational institutions.
