Islamabad resident fined for washing car outside home

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has fined and arrested a resident of Islamabad's Sector G-11/2 for washing a vehicle outside his home. The enforcement action followed a citizen complaint and social media footage showing the car being washed on a public road.

Authorities linked the crackdown to both water conservation efforts and public health concerns. Specifically, the CDA noted that roadside car washing contributes to stagnant water, which creates breeding conditions for dengue mosquitoes. The individual was issued a challan, and legal proceedings have been initiated. The CDA warned that strict measures will continue against anyone violating water-use and public health regulations.
