Islamabad to implement electronic parking system
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is developing a new electronic parking system to manage seven designated locations across Islamabad. The time-based system will digitally record vehicle entry and exit times, allowing officials to monitor parking duration and applicable charges through an electronic dashboard.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to implement digital and cashless services in the capital to improve traffic management and transparency. The CDA is also moving toward cashless transactions using QR codes for payments to reduce reliance on traditional cash-based collection methods. Additionally, the Blue Area parking plaza has been completed to help alleviate parking pressure in that district.
