Islamabad Zoo introduces Coffee with Alpaca attraction

The Islamabad Zoo has launched a new family attraction called “Coffee with Alpaca,” which allows visitors to sit at cafe tables while alpacas and llamas roam nearby. The zoo reports that its herd of ten imported alpacas is the only one of its kind in Pakistan, providing a rare opportunity to see the South American animals up close.

Managing the animals in the Pakistani capital has presented environmental challenges due to high summer temperatures. Because alpacas are native to cooler South American highlands, zoo director Muhammad Younas stated that staff had to install air coolers around the enclosure to protect them from the heat.
