Islamic teachings on prayer obligations and divination
Islamic teachings address the religious consequences of neglecting prayer and engaging in divination. According to scholars, abandoning obligatory prayer is considered a serious matter. Specifically, those who deny the obligation of prayer or abandon it entirely are categorized as having committed major disbelief (kufr) based on interpretations of the Quran and Hadith.
Additionally, the belief in myths and prophecies is strictly prohibited in Islamic doctrine. Such practices are viewed as shirk, or associating partners with God, because knowledge of the unseen is considered an exclusive attribute of Allah. Religious texts indicate that visiting fortune tellers or believing their predictions can invalidate a person's faith and affect the acceptance of their prayers.
