Madinah hosts international conference on countering intellectual deviation

Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah, inaugurated the International Conference on Saudi Arabia’s Efforts to Confront Intellectual Deviations. Organized by the Islamic University of Madinah, the event brings together scholars, researchers, and representatives from various Islamic fatwa institutions to discuss strategies for promoting moderation and countering extremism.

The conference features 56 peer-reviewed research papers, nine dialogue sessions, and ten accompanying exhibitions. Key topics include the role of education in building intellectual immunity, the impact of modern technology and artificial intelligence on intellectual influence, and the integration of mental health and social institutions in preventing radicalization.

Participants are exploring international experiences and national initiatives to strengthen intellectual awareness. The event aims to produce scientific outcomes and practical recommendations to protect societies from extremist discourse and foster cultural dialogue and coexistence.
