Islamic University of Medina and Abu Dhabi University Rise in Global Rankings

The Islamic University of Medina improved its position in the QS World University Rankings 2027, climbing 86 places to move from the 1201‑1400 band into the 1001‑1200 band worldwide. Domestically, the university advanced from 21st to 18th among Saudi institutions, reflecting gains in academic reputation, citation impact, international faculty presence, research collaborations and sustainability metrics.

Abu Dhabi University entered the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026 within the top 301‑400 institutions globally and ranked sixth among UAE universities. The university performed strongly in several Sustainable Development Goals, notably SDG 10 (global rank 14, best in the UAE), SDG 8 (global rank 76), and achieved notable positions in SDGs 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12 and 16.

Both rankings highlight the institutions’ expanding international visibility and commitment to research excellence and sustainable development.
