Island Beach State Park ranked as having New Jersey's most pristine sand
Island Beach State Park has been recognized by the Family Destinations Guide as having the most pristine sand in New Jersey. The guide described the Seaside Park location as an underrated destination featuring gorgeous white sand that offers a private coastal experience.
Spanning approximately 10 miles between the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay, the park was established in 1959 after New Jersey purchased much of the land in the 1950s for preservation. The area provides opportunities for hiking, fishing, swimming, and walking without the presence of dense hotel or residential developments.
