Island raises $400 million at $6.4 billion valuation

Island has closed a $400 million Series F funding round, bringing the company’s valuation to $6.4 billion. This represents an $1.8 billion increase from its previous valuation of $4.6 billion.

The funding round was led by Evolution Equity Partners, with participation from JPMorgan, Sequoia Capital, and Georgian. The company plans to use the capital for product development and expansion, including a goal to hire 500 employees by mid-2027.

Island provides an enterprise browser built on Chromium designed to secure cloud-based applications. Its security features include blocking malicious pages, preventing phishing, and terminating sessions if devices or networks are deemed insecure. Recently, the company expanded its capabilities to include security for AI agents, allowing companies to inventory and monitor the AI tools, servers, and extensions used by employees.
