Island raises $400 million at $6.4 billion valuation

Island, a Dallas-based cybersecurity company specializing in enterprise browsers, has raised $400 million in a Series F funding round. The investment, led by Evolution Equity Partners, brings the company’s total valuation to $6.4 billion, more than doubling its value since 2024.

The funding will be used to expand Island’s platform, which provides an agentic control plane designed to govern both human users and AI agents. The technology integrates security and IT controls directly into the browsing experience, offering zero trust network access (ZTNA), data loss prevention (DLP), and device posture assessment without the need for traditional VPNs.

Island’s platform allows organizations to implement granular rules to block unapproved clipboard transfers, downloads, and screen captures. It also provides guardrails for AI usage, separating proprietary information from external language models to mitigate risks like prompt injection. The company currently employs approximately 1,000 people and serves over 700 enterprise clients, including several of the world’s largest banks.
