IslandLink and Hullo partner for Vancouver Island transit

IslandLink Bus Services and Hullo have established a partnership to facilitate car-free travel between Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. The collaboration integrates bus routes with Hullo’s ferry services at the Nanaimo terminal.

As of October 1, IslandLink has introduced two daily one-way bus routes. These routes connect Campbell River, Courtenay, and Parksville to downtown Vancouver via the Nanaimo ferry terminal. The schedule is designed to align with specific Hullo sailings: a 9:00 a.m. sailing from Vancouver to Nanaimo connects to an 11:00 a.m. bus heading north, while a morning bus from the North Island arrives in time for the 11:00 a.m. sailing to the mainland.

Both companies are exploring future expansions of this transit network, with potential new routes serving Victoria, the Cowichan Valley, Port Alberni, and Tofino.
