Isle of Wight hospitality sees hotel developments and growth
The Isle of Wight hospitality sector is seeing developments in both renovation and new luxury offerings. In Ryde, a proposal has been submitted by Dr Malik to convert the long-empty Terminus Hotel into a high-quality hotel. The project aims to restore the building’s architectural features and provide ten bedrooms, a guest lounge, and a dining area. The development is intended to support tourism and sustainable transport, with a council decision expected by October 20.
Meanwhile, in Shanklin, the Palm Court Hotel is reporting a successful first full summer season. The boutique hotel has secured over 200 suite nights and has already received bookings extending into 2027. The establishment recently received third place in the Travel Chapter Showcase Awards for Best Renovation or Transformation, highlighting a trend toward high-end accommodation on the island.
