Francisco Prado defeats Ismael Bonfim via TKO at UFC Vegas 122

Argentine fighter Francisco Prado secured a first-round technical knockout victory over Brazilian Ismael Bonfim at UFC Vegas 122. The bout, held at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, ended at the 4-minute and 23-second mark of the opening round after Prado utilized takedowns and dominant ground-and-pound to force the referee's intervention.

The match followed a turbulent weigh-in period where Bonfim missed the lightweight limit by 7.5 pounds, weighing in at 163.5 pounds. This marked the third time in his UFC tenure that he failed to meet the required weight. As a result of the miss, Bonfim forfeited 25 percent of his purse to Prado. Gabriel Bonfim, Ismael's brother, stated that the weight discrepancy occurred after the team attempted to rehydrate Ismael when he felt unwell during the weigh-in process.

For Prado, the win snaps a four-fight losing streak. For Bonfim, the loss extends his recent losing streak to four consecutive defeats in the promotion.
