Ismael Kamagate Pallacanestro Varese multi‑year contract French pivot Serie A

French 2001‑born center Ismael Kamagate has agreed to a multi‑year contract with Italy’s Pallacanestro Varese, joining the club for the 2026‑27 season. The 211 cm, 100 kg pivot previously played for Olimpia Milano, Derthona and Turkish side Besiktas, where he helped reach the EuroCup final and posted averages of 8.4 points and 5.9 rebounds in 20 games.

Varese’s General Manager Maksim Horowitz said the signing “adds a further level of versatility to our roster” and praised Kamagate’s defensive solidity, rim protection and offensive presence. Coach Ioannis Kastritis will integrate the new pivot as the team prepares for a campaign that will feature competition in Italy’s Serie A and the Champions League. The deal completes Varese’s summer market activity after the club also secured guard David Duke Jr.

The club’s management highlighted Kamagate’s experience in the Italian league, noting his familiarity with Serie A’s competitiveness and his potential for further growth.
