Ismailia Governor and Sri Lankan Ambassador discuss investment cooperation

Nabil Hasballah, the Governor of Ismailia, met with the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Cairo, Sisera Sinavaratna, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in investment, trade, agriculture, and training.

The discussions focused on enhancing the investment climate in Ismailia, highlighting its strategic location, free investment zones, and industrial areas, including those within the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The Governor emphasized the importance of resolving investor challenges to drive economic development and job creation.

Ambassador Sinavaratna expressed interest in increasing Sri Lankan investment in Egypt, particularly within the textile and ready-made garment sectors. He also highlighted opportunities for Egyptian investors in Sri Lanka, specifically in renewable energy and tourism-related infrastructure projects.
