Ismailia Governorate celebrates National Day

Egypt’s Ministry of Local Development and Environment has issued congratulations to the Ismailia Governorate on its National Day, observed annually on October 16. The date commemorates the 1951 popular resistance by Ismailia residents against British occupation forces.

In conjunction with the celebrations, the ministry highlighted ongoing development efforts in the region. These include infrastructure improvements such as road upgrades, enhancements to healthcare and education services, and the development of sewage systems and slaughterhouses.

Additionally, the ministry is focusing on environmental initiatives in Ismailia, including waste management improvements, increased afforestation, and the expansion of green spaces to enhance the urban environment and public health.
