Isny politicians seek alternatives to save Schlossweihnacht

The Freie Wähler political group and the local business association, Gewerbeverein Isny Aktiv, are calling for alternatives to prevent the cancellation of the Schlossweihnacht Christmas market in Isny. The event is currently scheduled to be discontinued starting in 2027 due to municipal budget cuts.

Rainer Leuchtle, leader of the Freie Wähler, has urged the Isny Marketing GmbH (IMG) to find more cost-effective ways to maintain the tradition, suggesting that reduced organizational efforts or renting tents instead of using municipal facilities could lower expenses. The business association emphasized that the market is vital for local trade, gastronomy, and tourism, while also providing a platform for local schools and clubs.
