Isobella Perrie Sullivan granted bail after bomb interception in Ireland

An Irish court approved bail for 25‑year‑old law student Isobella Perrie Sullivan, who is charged with possession of explosives after a bomb was found in a car on the N2 near Carrickmacross, County Monaghan. The vehicle contained a bag of Semtex military‑grade explosive and a detonator. Sullivan’s bail was set at €15,000 provided by a surety in Claremorris, County Mayo, and she must surrender her passport, adhere to a 9 p.m.–7 a.m. curfew, keep her mobile phone on at all times, report daily to Naas Garda station, and have no contact with members of Saoradh, the New IRA, or her co‑accused.

Judge Raymond Finnegan of Cavan District Court imposed these conditions, and Sullivan is scheduled to appear again before Monaghan District Court on 7 August. The other individual charged in the case, 44‑year‑old museum employee Simon O’Donovan, remains in custody after being denied bail. Both defendants face trial on explosives offences in the Special Criminal Court in Dublin.
