Isola del Garda Island Tours Offer Wine Tasting and Villa Visits

The private island of Isola del Garda, the largest island on Italy’s Lake Garda, is owned by the Borghese Cavazza family, which permits public visits. Guided tours operate daily from April to October, except on Mondays, and require advance booking. Tours depart from various harbours and last between two and two‑and‑a‑half hours, with boat trips taking 15 to 40 minutes depending on the departure point.

Visitors explore English‑ and Italian‑styled gardens and part of the historic villa, with narration available in Italian, English, and German. Each tour includes a welcome drink, a tasting of a local wine, and a sampling of DOP‑certified olive oil. Small dogs are allowed on‑site if carried, while larger dogs must wait outside. The island is also accessible to people with mobility impairments, though three stairways of approximately 25 steps each must be negotiated, so visitors with disabilities should inform the organizers in advance.
