Isola del Giglio archaeological discoveries presented by Professor Tabolli

Professor Jacopo Tabolli, an Etruscologist from the University for Foreigners of Siena and director of the CADMO Center, led a presentation on recent archaeological discoveries at Isola del Giglio.

The lecture, organized by the Circolo Culturale Gigliese at the Hotel Saraceno, focused on the Peschiera del Saraceno area. Findings include a large Roman maritime villa and evidence of preceding structures, such as a complex system of basins, grates, and thermal environments known as the balneum, which featured decorative mosaics.

The event aimed to highlight the island's historical depth, spanning over two thousand years, and showcased the significant interest from both locals and visitors in the region's cultural heritage.
