Isola del Liri police identify burglary suspect via DNA

The Italian State Police have identified a suspect in connection with two apartment burglaries committed in the Isola del Liri area during 2023. The breakthrough in the investigation resulted from advanced forensic genetic testing.

During the original crime scenes, scientific police specialists collected blood traces left by the perpetrators during the break-ins. This biological material was sent to forensic laboratories for DNA profiling. Subsequent laboratory comparisons allowed investigators to identify the individual responsible for the traces.

The suspect has been referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Cassino and faces charges of aggravated theft. The case is currently in the preliminary investigation phase.
