Isola Dino access restricted to WWF-authorized excursions
Following its return to public ownership after a long legal dispute, Isola Dino in Praia a Mare is now accessible to visitors under strict environmental regulations. Access to the island is not free; visitors must book excursions through the WWF to ensure the protection of its unique ecosystem and high biodiversity.
Mayor Antonino De Lorenzo stated that the measure is an obligation set by the Marine Park, which selected the WWF through a public notice. An ordinance has been issued prohibiting anyone from landing on the island except for authorized operators, competent authorities, and law enforcement. The initiative aims to balance tourism with the conservation of the natural habitats on the Tyrrhenian coast.
