Isolda Dantas seeks dialogue with Zenaide Maia for Rio Grande do Norte elections

In Rio Grande do Norte, re-elected state deputy Isolda Dantas (PT) has called for dialogue with Senator Zenaide Maia (PSD) to strengthen support for Cadu de Lula (PT) in the second round of the gubernatorial election.

Dantas expressed interest in bringing Zenaide Maia and the Mayor of São Gonçalo do Amarante, Jaime Calado (PSD), closer to the government-aligned candidacy. This move follows Zenaide's defeat in the Senate reelection race, where she ran on an alliance opposing Cadu and lost to Samanda de Lula (PT) by 5,765 votes.

While Zenaide maintained support for President Lula, she previously attributed her political rift with Governor Fátima Bezerra (PT) to being excluded from the state's electoral project. Governor Bezerra has contested these claims, denying that the PSD was intentionally left out of the alliance.
