Isole di Luce 2026 to feature light installations at Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta

The fourth edition of the Isole di Luce project is scheduled to run from December 4, 2026, to January 10, 2027, across the landscapes of Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta. The theme for this edition, ‘Un Cantico d’acqua e luce’, is a contemporary interpretation of the Canticle of the Creatures, marking the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi.

In Stresa, light installations will feature at Isola Bella, where Palazzo Borromeo and its botanical gardens will host ‘Il sole, la luna e l’armonia del cosmo’. Nearby, Isola dei Pescatori will present ‘Sorella acqua’, utilizing delicate lighting inspired by water movement. The event will also expand to the mainland, including Baveno, where videomapping will be displayed on the Romanesque facade of the complex of Santi Gervaso and Protaso.
