Isparta releases balloons to support Duchenne muscular dystrophy patient Görkem Efe
A charity campaign for 17‑year‑old Görkem Efe Şengün, diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, was completed in Isparta, Turkey. The campaign, approved by the provincial governor, raised enough funds to begin his treatment plan abroad.
An event held at the governor’s square brought together local officials, including Mayor Şükrü Başdeğirmen and Deputy Governor Adnan Tezcan, as well as Görkem’s father Alper Şengün. After speeches thanking supporters, colorful balloons were released into the sky, symbolising hope for the patient’s recovery and the community’s solidarity.
