Israel Aerospace Industries launches Boeing 777 cargo conversion in Arizona

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Ascent Aviation Services, and World Star Aviation have launched Boeing 777-300ERSF passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion operations in North America. The first aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER from World Star Aviation’s portfolio, has arrived at Ascent’s expanded Pinal Air Park campus in Marana, Arizona.

Under this partnership, IAI provides the certified engineering solutions and conversion technology, while Ascent Aviation Services supplies the infrastructure and operational capabilities. The facility will operate two parallel conversion lines to meet the rising demand for long-haul air cargo transportation.

IAI is currently the only company to hold a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for converting Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft into freighters. The expansion is expected to create hundreds of highly skilled aviation jobs in Southern Arizona and strengthen the region's position as an aerospace hub.
