Israel Aerospace Industries unveils new defense systems and swarm tech partnership

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Palladyne AI are collaborating to develop autonomous swarm munitions systems. The partnership aims to integrate IAI’s Harop and Harpy loitering munitions with Palladyne AI’s SwarmOS and DECA architecture. This decentralized autonomy software is designed to coordinate multiple unmanned platforms and process data at the point of use, even with limited connectivity. The technology seeks to alter military cost structures, as traditional single-target engagements can cost between $10 million and $40 million.

Separately, IAI has unveiled three new air defense systems at the AUSA conference. These include Point@Air, a mobile aerostat-based phased-array radar designed to detect fighter aircraft, drones, and cruise missiles while remaining highly mobile to avoid drone attacks. Additionally, IAI introduced a counter-drone interceptor that operates without an explosive warhead and the Fire Storm 250, a drone equipped with an M250 machine gun developed in partnership with Sig Sauer.
