Israel and Regional Allies Bolster Security Amid Iranian Threats

Israel faces a coordinated threat to its maritime and energy infrastructure in the Haifa Bay area, where Iranian‑backed Hezbollah could target offshore gas platforms, desalination plants and civilian ports. Over 70% of Israeli electricity and more than half of its potable water rely on these facilities. To counter the risk, Israel has deployed advanced defense systems, including Barak LRAD‑equipped Saar 6 ships, Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Arrow, and unmanned underwater surveillance vehicles.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reports that Israel is actively coordinating with several Middle Eastern states to prepare for a possible U.S.‑led escalation against Iran. The cooperation includes heightened dialogue, U.S. military asset deployment in the region, and plans to strike Iranian energy sites. Diplomatic contacts have also been renewed, exemplified by a recent discussion between Israel’s President Isaac Herzog and Bahrain’s King Hamad.

Separately, Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan have forged a new political‑security axis. The three nations conducted a joint exercise focused on counter‑UAV tactics and live‑fire drills, reflecting deepening military ties—especially between Cairo and Ankara after years of tension—and expanding cooperation to South Asia through meetings with the Pakistani Navy. The drills underline a shared emphasis on countering unmanned aerial threats across the region.
