Israel and Venezuela discuss expanded economic and technological cooperation

Israel and Venezuela are working to deepen bilateral relations and expand economic cooperation following a 17-year diplomatic rupture. During a meeting at the United Nations, Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon and Venezuelan Ambassador Coromoto Godoy Calderón discussed the potential use of Israeli technology across various sectors in Venezuela.

The two nations are moving to restore ties, having previously announced an agreement to establish consular services for their citizens. This follows technical cooperation provided by Israel during emergency responses to devastating earthquakes in Venezuela in June. The diplomatic thaw follows a shift in Venezuelan policy toward Washington and away from Iran after the capture of Nicolás Maduro and the subsequent rise of Delcy Rodríguez as interim president.
