Israel announces 1,200 new West Bank settlements

Israel has decided to build 1,200 new settlements in the West Bank, territory occupied by Israeli troops. In response, British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced a reset in relations between the United Kingdom and Israel, which includes a ban on importing goods from these new settlements, citing they are contrary to international law.

France and several other nations have announced similar measures. Israeli officials have condemned the move by London; specifically, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar characterized the British decision as “antisemitism”.
