Israel: Ben Gvir visits Temple Mount as IDF kills two commanders

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir visited the Temple Mount during the Sukkot holiday, declaring that Israel is the ‘masters of the house’ at the site. Ben Gvir, who oversees the police, used the visit to address the legacy of the October 7 attacks, stating that while the event caused immense pain, Israel has since implemented measures such as expanded civilian gun licensing and the creation of rapid-response squads to ensure victory.

In separate military developments, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of two commanders involved in the October 7 attacks. In Gaza City, the IDF killed Muhammad Jamal Mahmoud Abu Al-Shaar, a Hamas cell commander identified as being involved in the abduction of six individuals from Kibbutz Be’eri. In the Jabalia area, the military targeted and killed Musab Abd al-Jalil Saqib Balbisi, a commander in the military wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The IDF stated both individuals were involved in advancing attacks against Israeli troops and civilians.
