Israel blocks construction of Trump-led Peace Board base in Gaza

Israel is reportedly obstructing the construction of a strategic military base in the Gaza Strip, a project initiated by the Peace Board under the leadership of Donald Trump. According to reports from The Guardian, Israeli authorities are preventing contractors, heavy machinery, and essential equipment from entering the territory.

In August, the Peace Board awarded its first construction contract to Arkel International, a company based in Louisiana. The contract involves building a 100-by-100-meter secure facility designed to house an initial rotation of 150 international soldiers. This garrison is intended to serve as a foundation for a larger multinational stabilization force of approximately 500 personnel, with planned deployments from Morocco and Kosovo.

The site is planned for a location previously used by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Sources indicate that the delay in establishing this security presence is stalling broader reconstruction efforts, as the deployment of aid, construction teams, and essential utility networks depends on the security provided by the international stabilization force.
