Israel carries out 26 June raids on Al‑Aqsa Mosque and blocks prayer calls 84 times

In June, Israeli police and military forces entered the Al‑Aqsa Mosque compound 26 times under police and army protection, according to a report by the Palestinian Ministry of Waqf and Religious Affairs. The same report notes that the adjacent Al‑Haram al‑Ibrahim Mosque had the call to prayer obstructed 84 times during the month.

The ministry also recorded 950 Israeli entries into Al‑Haram al‑Ibrahim, the sealing of its eastern gate, and construction of a roof over the courtyard without consulting mosque authorities. Additional incidents included fires set at two mosques north of Ramallah, a raid on the Re's Mosque in Hebron where Israeli flags were hoisted, and other measures restricting Palestinian worship. Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben‑Gvir's statements about establishing a synagogue on the Al‑Aqsa site were cited as further escalation.

The ministry appealed to the international community to halt these violations and to protect the historic and legal status of the Islamic holy sites.
