Israel Defense Forces report killing of two militants in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the killing of two individuals identified as members of militant groups during operations in the Gaza Strip.
In one operation, the IDF reported the elimination of Muhammad Jamal Mahmoud Abu Al-Shaar, a Hamas fighter. According to the military, Abu Al-Shaar was involved in the October 7, 2023, attack and the subsequent kidnapping of the family of Tal Shoham, an Austro-Israeli. The family members, including Shoham’s wife and two children, were released following a previous agreement.
In a separate strike in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza, the IDF killed Muhammad Abd al-Aziz Muhammad Nagar. The Israeli military identified Nagar as a member of Hamas’ military wing who participated in the October 7 attacks and was involved in preparing strikes against Israeli targets. Following his death, a dispute emerged regarding his professional identity; while Palestinian reports described him as a media worker or presenter for Radio Quran, the IDF stated he was being presented as a journalist to obscure his alleged militant affiliations.
