Israel demolishes dozens of Bedouin homes in Negev desert

Israeli authorities demolished approximately 80 structures in the Al-Dahiya village located in the Negev desert. The demolition, which included a mosque and inhabited homes, affected roughly 400 residents, including 250 students.

Residents of the unrecognized village stated they have no alternative housing following the destruction. The village had been subject to demolition orders for six years, and a court ruling a year ago upheld the decision.

Legal counsel for the residents, Eli Ben Zaken, indicated that the destruction is part of a broader effort by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli to increase the frequency of such demolitions in Bedouin communities.
