Israel destroys Hezbollah tunnel network under Ali Taher ridge

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have destroyed a strategic Hezbollah underground network located beneath the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. The operation utilized approximately 1,100 tons of explosives to demolish the complex, which spanned over two kilometers in length.

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, the infrastructure served as a central command hub for Hezbollah's Badr Unit. The complex included command centers, weapons depots, living quarters, and launch pads for drones and rockets. Officials stated the network was developed over two decades with Iranian funding and planning.

The massive detonation triggered a seismic event with a magnitude of 4.1, which was recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and felt by residents in the Nabatiye region. The IDF stated that the destruction of these tunnels completes the establishment of a security zone in southern Lebanon, intended to prevent attacks against northern Israel.
