Israel has denied entry to two Swedish members of the European Parliament, Jonas Sjöstedt and Hanna Gedin, from the Left Party. The lawmakers were stopped at Ben Gurion Airport while attempting to travel to the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Israel's Foreign Ministry stated the denial was requested by Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar. The ministry accused the MEPs of expressing 'hostile positions' and spreading 'unsubstantiated allegations' against the state, including claims of genocide, deliberate starvation, and the intentional targeting of children and medical personnel in Gaza.

Sjöstedt and Gedin had planned to meet with human rights organizations and NGOs, such as Save the Children, and visit refugee camps to observe conditions in the Palestinian territories. The MEPs and the Swedish delegation have protested the decision, with the European Parliament's Left group describing the move as an attack on EU institutions.
