Israel donates ambulances and medical equipment to Nigeria
Israel has donated an initial consignment of ambulances, medical equipment, and wheelchairs to Nigeria. The handover took place at the Port of Ashdod and was facilitated by Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service, on behalf of the Israeli government.
Nigeria’s Ambassador to Israel, Nkechi Ufochukwu, received the items. The donation is intended to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare delivery and emergency response capabilities, particularly in underserved and vulnerable communities where medical infrastructure is currently inadequate. The equipment is expected to be deployed to hospitals and emergency centers across the country.
Officials noted that the gesture reflects a growing humanitarian and health partnership between the two nations. Beyond the immediate provision of supplies, the cooperation is expected to foster opportunities for technology transfer, professional training, and knowledge sharing to build more resilient emergency medical systems in Nigeria.
