Israel faces rising fuel and egg prices
Israeli consumers are facing price increases for essential goods. Fuel prices are projected to rise sharply following the expiration of a temporary NIS 1 per liter tax reduction introduced by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on November 3. Combined with rising global oil prices driven by geopolitical tensions involving Israel, the US, and Iran, the price of 95-octane gasoline could exceed NIS 9 per liter.
Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has announced an approximately 2.1% increase in government-controlled egg prices effective November 1. The adjustment, which adds between 27 and 33 agorot per dozen depending on size, is attributed to rising production and distribution costs, including poultry feed, wages, energy, and packaging.
