Israel kills Hamas security official and operative in Gaza strikes
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet announced the deaths of two Hamas members in separate operations within the Gaza Strip.
In Jabalia, an airstrike on October 19 killed Tamer Muhammad Ibrahim al-Sabbagh. Israeli authorities identified al-Sabbagh as the final remaining member of a five-man cell involved in the October 7, 2023, kidnapping of Shani Louk, a German-Israeli influencer. Louk was killed during the initial attacks, and footage of her body being transported to Gaza became a widely recognized record of the incident.
In Gaza City, an airstrike targeted Akram Basam Shaban Yasin, described by the IDF as a high-ranking official within Hamas's General Security apparatus. According to military statements, Yasin's responsibilities included securing the movement of Hamas leaders between emergency facilities, conducting intelligence assessments, and executing terrorist attack plans. The IDF stated that precision munitions were used during the strike to mitigate civilian damage.
